Gallbladder abnormality seen but not mentioned to him
June 3, 2022
Chris was brought to Providence Emergency Room by a friend of his from the methadone clinic, first name was Bob. This seems to be the first time that Chris had been to the emergency room since May 2014 when he’d had a sudden attack of some sort affecting his breathing.
While I am obviously not a physician, there are a number of things about the records from this visit that I find concerning, especially when taken in context of everything else that has happened to me and to Chris, medically, and the pattern of discrepancies that I’ve been seeing in medical records.
Among the things that raise red flags with me are the following.
- allegations that Chris suffered from sleep apnea. I do recall that one of Chris’ friends had once made the claim that Chris had sleep apnea but it wasn’t true. My understanding is sleep apnea is a condition in which breathing stops during sleep. Chris did not have any of the signs of sleep apnea. My suspicion is that this allegation was made partly to explain the heart condition. His records read in part “I suspect his pulmonary hypertension is multifactorial related to LV diastolic dysfunction as well as undiagnosed and untreated sleep apnea.” (p 230)
- There is a note of an abdominal ultrasound made on October 11, 2013 that showed something going on with his gallbladder (gallstones probably). This would have been about a month after I had published the article about his band, Introducing Napalm Beach. This seems to have been something that was related to a visit to Providence ER. I don’t remember this trip to the emergency room, though it looks like Chris was there between about 6 and 11 pm 10/11/13.
- I believe that blood pressure issues began with Chris also around the time that I was writing the “Introducing Napalm Beach” article. Similarly, experienced very unusual incidents of elevated blood pressure in 2020 when I was having other strange things happening with my heart.
- A number of Chris’ medical records were delivered to me in an illegible state. Example:
A total of 13 pages from this specific visit are illegible, including several pages of EKG read outs.
5. A note from Dr Nathaniel Brigham (numbered p 255 on this printout) reads as follows:
“Feeling much better since admit. Ongoing brisk diuresis. Says he thinks his SO is a bad influence. Continued goal directed thoughts about improving his health and life in general.”
I can almost guarantee that Chris did not say that I (his significant other) am a “bad influence.” It is not impossible that he might have said something critical of me in some way, but it wouldn’t have been that I am a “bad influence.” This note is presented entirely without context, but being as it’s clear that Chris had recently relapsed on heroin, from the notes it might be inferred that I had something to do with that (I didn’t). To me it looks like this note is less about helping Chris and more about creating a negative profile of me. This becomes more clear as Chris returns to the hospital, and more fanciful notes appear in the records.
6. A CT angiogram of Chris’ abdominal area seems to have shown issues with his esophagus, liver, and gallbladder. Several times in the records it is mentioned that there is a thickening of the walls of his gallbladder, and an additional scan is recommended (right upper quadrant ultrasound). I can’t find any evidence to show whether that ultrasound was completed, but it doesn’t seem like any of this was mentioned to Chris. He never reported it to me, and in fact he was really surprised when the found the had gallbladder cancer in January 2021, telling him that the cancer had probably developed over at least five years, because he’d had so many tests in June 2019 he thought they should have seen it. They told him that it’s hard to see. But based on these records, it looks to me like they did see something. And in fact, before I even saw these records I knew that the hospitals and possibly the community at large were aware that Chris was developing cancer, and that they had been covering it up, because there had been other signs.
