FOIA requests to FBI and responses 2022

On March 29, 2022, I sent two Freedom of Information Act letters to the FBI, one requesting all their records on me, and the other requesting all their records on Chris.

On March 29, 2022, using the guidelines provided by the FBI, I sent two Freedom of Information Act letters to the FBI, one requesting all their records on me, and the other requesting all their records on Chris.

Two responses arrived, dated two days apart. A response dated April 8, 2022 stated that the FBI found no responsive documents about me, and a response dated April 11, 2022 stated that the FBI found no responsive documents about Chris.

Being as I had tried to report life-endangering federal crimes to them several times over the past seven years, via every means possible (in person, by phone, by online tip form, and via mail) – I thought it was strange and troubling that the couldn’t find any documents about me at all. So on April 20, 2022 I sent a follow up letter to that effect. Their response, dated May 17, 2022 stated that they were researching the issue, and as of this writing, August 9, 2022, their online application says that they are still searching their databases, specifically for information about my “correspondence” with FBI. This is labeled FOIPA Request No 1544989-000.

FBI’s response to this letter was to look for evidence of “correspondence” (and four months later, as of 8/23/22 they are still looking) – not to put too fine a point on it, but when you read what I’ve written in this letter – is the issue of missing correspondence your take away?
