link to a poem from my March 1988 journal

In this video you can see microwave burns worsen on my face over a period of several hours. I started making the video in the late morning and finished it in the afternoon.

As far as the content of the video, I’m making the argument that Kurt Cobain had seen my journals had used some of my writing as inspiration for a song or songs. This is not the only instance where I see evidence of that going on, but it’s probably the strongest instance, as far as my own journals go. There are also songs of Cobain’s, including Lithium and Very Ape, which seem to have been inspired by songs that Chris had written – Pugsley and Into The Sky, respectively. In the case of the latter, as I’ve said, there are also similarities between a poem I had written in a journal called “Atrophy” and the lyrics of Very Ape. There are a number of reasons why Chris is artistically far more important than me with regards to Sub Pop bands, mainly in that it appears that, at least between 1981 and 1989, Sub Pop as a label imitated Chris’ moves, both artistically and in terms of his efforts to record, distribute his music, and tour, in almost a systematic or perhaps ritualistic fashion.
